Michigan Five County Real Estate Year End Pricing Finishes Strong

The Five County area found the average price of a home listed price and the average price of the sold price went up from December 2017 over December 2016.

The Five County area includes Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Antrim, and Kalkaska.

Antrim and Kalkaska showed the greatest increase in dollar volume and average price, while the mean price was slightly lower.

We are seeing a leveling trend in December after a hot market for most of the year.

Actual listing counts are down, 261 (2017) versus 305 (2016), however, days on the market were lower due to the lower inventory.

The 2017 year ending sales were considerably stronger than 2016 as the values and pricing statistics were up in almost every category, except average days on the market.
